#Thankful

My day was filled with turkey, lots (and lots) of wine, deep laughter, and smiles/kisses. Here are some snaps of my Thanksgiving attire consisting of a vintage lace print dress, tribal poncho sweater, statement stone necklace,  round sunnies, and pony hair printed booties.

Most of my posts are strictly fashion or brunch but I wanted to make this one a bit more personal. I always look forward to this holiday, which kicks off all of the winter festivities. Thanksgiving really makes you stop and appreciate everything and everyone in your life. I am SO THANKFUL for my amazing family, friends, health, happiness, and love. (I know it sounds cliche but it is so true) This has been a year of hardships and powerful triumphs, intense change that has brought the most amazing people in my life. I would not change one thing, and I am blessed for all of this goodness.

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving (and/or Hanukkah) today with their family!

Gift giving… ahead of the game!

I apologize for the scarce posts lately, it has been extremely hard finding a balance between blogging and settling into my new job! Balancing work and everyday life  has always been a struggle for me in the past, it is hard to look at my job as just " a job" because I LOVE what I do and am so passionate about it. I finally feel settled in at Freida Rothman (as Brand Director…my dream job!) with an AH-Mazing team and fabulous Creative Director. I am so excited to share everything we are working on, lifestyle expansions, and prepping for January marketing. I have been living and breathing jewelry for the past month… even dreaming about it! On another note, my Blazers & Bellinis outfit and "Art of Brunch" posts will be back on track ;) yay!

I literally *cant believe* that Thanksgiving is already this week! Where in the world does the time go? Anyways, I am going to be totally on top of my gift giving game this year. How am I doing this you ask? Well, every busy working woman should really consider starting their holiday shopping online.  I think the best way to approach your "inner santa" is to make a clear list of who exactly you have to buy for, and put your priority people on top! This sounds crazy but I actually have a solid 13 people on my list this year, so the key is smart and efficient shopping.

Even though I LOVE to hit the mall or outlets all day, I simply do not have the time. After I created my list I really put some thought into what my loved ones would need/want and I "online scouted" the best deals. I do not have to pay for any express shipping because I am way ahead of the game and I do not have to stress about long lines and sold out products.  Most of my fellow fashioninstas are getting ready to fight the battles and sample sales for this years's Black Friday but I just can't do it anymore. I would rather be in the comfort of my own home on my laptop and with one click get the same deals without the headache. I even suggest to get your online shopping carts ready to roll so at 12am on the dot you can get the deals before everything is sold out.

Here are some great gift ideas (from a small to larger budget), all available for online purchase. I hope this inspires you to step up your gift giving game, and save yourself some stress.

Happy Shopping!

Champagne & Chandeliers: Holiday Shopping Gala

I had a fab time last night at the Carlton Hotel in NYC for the Holiday Fashion Fete hosted by Jordana PR. This showcase gave designers from all over the country an opportunity to present their most recent collections direct to the consumer and press right before the holiday season.  Guests got to browse the collections, buy direct from the designers, & munch on some holiday treats (Confections by Dominique). I am truly inspired by all of these talented designers, their hard work and passion for their craft is priceless. I am honored to have hand selected some of these ladies, and have watched their brand grow over the past year.

Even though I loved every presenter last night, there were a few that really stood out and I wanted to share them with you.  From bold chunky chain, bright crystals, dainty gold plated pieces, hand beaded creations, to ultra feminine glam- there was a little something to fit into everyone's wardrobe.  I love the story behind NONILove's collection, her line is so dainty and understated yet still very on trend.  There was one particular ring from Alex Mika that I couldn't put down, an oval shape with a crystal eye on the right corner (def an early bday gift to myself).  Arms & Armory had an amazing selection of stackable rings and necklaces for layer.  Identity Accessories handmade jewelry speaks for itself, you can see the love and attention to detail in every piece.  Yellow Smith had this extremely feminine feel, and bright gems from a glam appeal. I am completely obsessed with this particular red cheetah print pony hair and soft grain leather clutch. Diana Ho Designs are the perfect combination between big city glam and boho chic, her travels greatly inspire almost every piece made with natural elements. Lastly, I want to own every piece by NY brand Eklexic… I am all about making a statement through big accessories. (go big or go home)

My event outfit consisted of a black sheer shoulder and white leather sweetheart dress from the ASOS curve holiday collection. My gold/silver/black rhodium bangles, cuffs, and rings are all by Freida Rothman.  This gold  "crystal ladder necklace" is by Eklexic, and def is my new fav neck piece in my jewelry box!

A very special thank you to Jordana Hazan of Jordana PR for hosting such a great evening! It was also wonderful to see the beautiful model/actress Stassi Schroeder from Vanderpump Rules on the East Coast! We are so used to working with the SUR crew in LA it was a nice change of pace to have her in New York.  Make sure to check out all the designers from last night's event.

In the torn up town, no post code envy

I was born & raised in a small town (Bayonne) in Jersey, where everyone knows your name and somehow everyone is related in one way or another. I always felt like an outcast growing up, stuck in a town where I didn't belong. I had "champagne dreams" and wanted more then just the average. I could not accept the norm, I envisioned my life much larger then what it was. Every time I hear the song "Royals" by Lorde, I think of my teenage life, and my small town. Making the best of what we had, always headed to the city, and having big dreams.

I recently had a conversation with a chic city friend who grew up in Connecticut, and she asked me "Where would you be on a typical Friday night in your teens?". I had to laugh because there were not many other options then this open space hosting trains and containers called "global". This is where we would be on the weekends, looking into the city skyline on a summer night (maybe causing a little trouble), but non the less outside in this industrial strip.

Even though it looks like a dump, I always found this weird beauty in it. I loved the view of the city, the graffiti everywhere, and the huge containers in every corner. I always wanted to do a shoot at global, so here it is.  My RSVP sweatshirt, checkered hat, paneled leggings, shattered metal necklace and gold/leather cuff are all from Forever 21.  My gold sunnies are called "Champagne Dreams" by Jimmy Swagg eyewear. The bangle stack, midi rings, and statement ring are by Frieda Rothman. Saving the best for last, these black and gold metal bow booties were custom made for me by Brittney Scott.

I followed my passion, had the opportunity to live in different states, and traveled the world… but I will never forget where I came from. This small town made me who I am today, and I am fortunate enough to still have my amazing hometown friends. We can talk about this hang out spot and laugh, reminisce on "the good days"- which were really not good at all, but we always made the best of it.

Merci Montreal

There is nothing better then a spontaneous weekend getaway planned by someone special. I have never been to Canada before, which is pretty crazy considering it is so close to us. Montreal is considered "the pearl of Canada", and now I can understand why. What an amazing city filled with french flare, fabulous fashion, and amazing people. The city really reminds me of Manhattan, and downtown Montreal can  be compared to Soho (expect MUCH cleaner).  We had the pleasure of staying at the Lowe's Vogue Hotel downtown, which was conveniently located across the street from Louis Vuitton and rows of luxury boutiques.

After exploring downtown we took the "metro" over to Old Port, which completely resembled Paris in every way. The old architecture, cobblestones, and french cafes took me back to a European mindset. We even met the sweetest couple who showed us around (thank god) because everything is in French including maps/signs/menus. After Old Port we hit the streets of Saint Laurent, which is Montreal's version of the Meatpacking District. Tons of bars/clubs and people filled the streets, the energy was great and we enjoyed ourselves stopping in about 5 different places throughout the night.

I was also really influenced by Canadian fashion, very casual in a chic way. Big parkas, lots of fur, knits, combat boots, infinity scarves, and vintage backpacks.  Of course I can not forget the plaid and "Canadian tuxedo" (denim on denim). I snapped some pics of street style and my favorite looks.

It was an amazing trip, and beautiful place! I can not wait to go back again soon… except this time I would dress MUCH warmer. (brr) Perfect city to snuggle up.
