Spring Steppin in Style x Nike Collab
The #1 trending shoe for spring 2014 (drum-roll
please…) is the SNEAKER! Yes, you heard right, an actual pair of running or
training shoes. When? How? Why? Is this even possible, do we dare to actually
be comfortable? Should I stop shaking my head to the commuters/and or tourists
on the subway with terrible sneakers paired with the wrong
outfit? Sneakers have now become acceptable for more outings then just the
gym. Chanel & Karl put all of my thoughts into perspective when his
Spring-Summer 2014 Haute Couture collection came down the runway. Even
some of my favorite fashion bloggers The Man Repeller, Sincerely Jules,
Song of Style,
Peace Love
& Shea and The Blonde Salad have eased me into the idea of
finishing a fashionably chic outfit with a pair of sneakers. Now let’s not go
crazy, there is actually an art of dressing with these kicks. The trick is to
still look extremely put together, wear all of your normal accessories, and
then add on the kicks for a final touch.
This look is all about the bright pink Nike Flex
running shoes. They have a light mesh and mid-foot overlay with rubber soles.
These kicks are extremely light weight and comfortable, better yet- cute enough
to wear with a daytime outfit. I call it my "casually running to the
mall" attire/errands around town. Nike has just released a summer style guide with a killer selection of
sweet kicks. Lots of bold colors for spring, textures, patterns and mixed
materials. Love it! You can even customize your colors and design.
These basic black leggings (I own about 50 pairs of them), graphic tank
top, and green army vest are from Forever 21. I am about that
"layering life" this spring. I put on a flowly white blouse with
black leather trim from Fashion to Figure under the vest. The jeweled
colorful statement necklace is by For Every Bella, I especially love this piece
because you can wear it with a casual look, such as this one, or with a
cocktail dress for an event. The rings and bracelets are from Freida Rothman's
new spring arrivals. My kelly green and gold hardware satchel handbag is by
Michael Kors. The black and gold oversized "Sophista Kata" sunnies
are by Jimmy Swagg
eyewear.

Do you dare to step out in your sneakers this week? (other then to the gym)
