LUXE LIFE at Hotel Giraffe

Location: Hotel Giraffe, New York

I have a few guilty pleasures in life, and staying in Park Avenue suites is definitely one of them. It's not a secret I am a total hotel junkie, I love to travel and stay at the best properties around the country. I travel quite often, and finding the perfect hotel can be hard to find at times.  I decided to organize a little "Staycation" in NYC for a ladies weekend this month, and I truly had an amazing experience at Hotel Giraffe that needs to be shared.

Hotel Giraffe, is located on 26th St. & Park Ave South, literally a perfect location in the city. (especially in spring with all of the gorg tulips!). Upon arrival, the staff was so helpful and very sweet. I checked into my room (King corner suite with balcony view), which was huge! My first thoughts were, "Can I just live here?!". I loved the living room area and the view was perfect. You KNOW I am crazy, and my first stop is to find the closet and make sure there is sufficient hangars and an ironing board/safe for my jewels. CHECK! (On point, see pics above)

I then headed downstairs after unpacking while waiting for my weekend accomplice (Daily Fashionista) to a wine & cheese selection served by the hotel for a DAILY happy hour. How amazing is this?! They had a selection of top red/white wines, champagne, juices/coffee, fresh fruit and cheeses. I loved the energy in the lobby/dining area during this time. I was able to connect with a few other guests and interact while enjoying my champagne. This is a great networking hour if you are staying in the hotel! Every guest I spoke with had extremely positive things to say about the staff, and the rooms. Every morning there is a full continental service breakfast equipped with delish cappuccinos. The hotel also offers lemon infused water, and cookies 24 hours for guests to help themselves. (I'll admit to a little late night cookie action) It just keeps getting better and better!

Hotel Giraffe had a nice selection of organic bath products in the bathroom, and some NY essential reading materials as well as  a wonderful working desk with a view overlooking Park Ave. Of course, I had to pack a few beauty products to play with over the weekend including; Herbal Essence shampoo, Aussie Hair spray mists, and some new cover girl polishes. All of my usual hotel essentials were met and I was definitely a happy camper. The quality of the bed and noise factor was also fabulous, I REALLY struggled waking up early for my Saturday morning appointment.

Did I mention, that the hotel also offers vallet service, and overnight parking for guests? Their rooftop/bar area will open mid-May, and I can't wait to come back! Hotel Giraffe is my new GO-TO city staycation spot, and I feel like they really do care about their customers. The service and amenities go above and beyond for a New York City property. Any readers traveling to NYC soon? Book you rooms!

MINT Moment

Photos By: Dana Prigge- Location: Park Ave, NYC

MINT MULES: metrostyle
Dress: Calvin Klein | Cropped Jacket: Daisy Fuentes | Sunnies: D&G | Jewels: Freida Rothman

As you know, I am ALL ABOUT color for Spring 2015. This was clearly a "Mint Moment" I had this past weekend prancing around Park Avenue. I am in love with these mules by metrostyle. The color, the silhouette and the fact that they are actually comfortable! Usually I don't go all "matchy matchy" on you, but I couldn't resist this equally fabulous mint paneled dress by Calvin Klein.
STYLE TIP: I wore a cropped blazer over the dress since it hits just at the knee to elongate my body and give a slimming illusion to my figure, highlighting my good area for an hour-glass shape. I accessorized with an all gold bangle stack, pointed pave earrings, aviators and minimal makeup.
I call this my everyday "uptown" power girl look. I just want you all to remember, when you exude confidence it resonates with every step you take.

"A woman who walks in PURPOSE doesn't have to chase people or opportunities. Her LIGHT cases people and opportunity to purse her."

More Park Ave swagg coming this week!

NEW LOOK: Long Hair Don't Care #SpringFling

Photos By: Naty Michele- Location: Midtown Manhattan

Kimono: UMGEE USA | Dress: New York & Co | Booties: Sam Edelman
Necklace/Bangles/Rings: Freida Rothman | Hand Cuff: Wren & Glory

Everyone has been asking me to finally debut my new long locks on the blog, and here they are! I had a complete hair makeover in Miami last week, and I'm still getting used to this big change (and styling all this hair on my own!).  People always ask me, "why do you change your hair so much?", my response is WHY NOT?! I believe that your hair is an extension of your outfit and overall look. Hair is your best accessory, and we all know I am a certified style risk-taker. So many people are afraid of change, they become comfortable to the ordinary or typical. I feel that I am in a big turning point in my life right now. So many amazing things are happening and big changes coming my way (on a professional and personal level).  You have to "envision" the best version of yourself and go for it. Change is a good thing! My red locks are officially retired, even though I really loved them for so long I felt it was time to move on. My stylist used a dark chocolate brown close to my natural color, and added 5-6 bundles of gorgeous blonde/caramel human hair (hand blended) through a tape fusion extension method. This new look took over 5 hours... WHEW!

Now that I have the perfect summer hair, I wanted to flaunt some Spring 2015 styles around the city. I am wearing a feminine floral printed kimono with lace trim by UMGEE USA. Underneath, I am rocking a yellow New York & Co. sleeves cotton pocket flare dress (told you I'm obsessed with this style of dress!).  I am layered up in a ton of bangles and mixed metal jewels, including this super cool "Oval Cage" necklace by Freida Rothman.  Lastly, I threw on a pair of my fav Sam Edelman spiked suede ankle booties and I'm G2G! (Good to Go)

I'm really loving this amazing Spring weather in NY and hope it stays this way! What do you guys think of my new hair? I hope I inspired you to try something different. TAKE A RISK

Bringing the Heat

Block Heels: Franco Sarto | Teal Triangle Collar Necklace: Express
Bracelets/Rings/Earrings/Sunnies: Freida Rothman

I find it amusing when I walk into a room and people's first response is "wow, you are really bright!".  (sometimes I can't decide if they are talking about my outfit or personality! haha) I love adding pops of color to my wardrobe, most New Yorkers tend to find their comfort in black, I beg to differ. I find great comfort in being bright & bold. Incorporating color in your wardrobe can improve your overall mood, how people perceive you and help you have a better attitude towards your day... these are proven facts ladies!

CONFESSION: I now own this sleeveless cotton flare dress by New York & Company in all 6 colors because I am completely obsessed with it. This is the perfect dress for the office, dinner with your girls, a date-night or can be a casual daytime look. You can throw on blazer,  kimono or sweater and be G2G (good to go).  I love the necklace and the flare structure with side pockets, very flattering on any body type. I layered over this gorg yellow trench coat which is definitely one of my Spring 2015 essentials. It's ALL ABOUT A GOOD TRENCH! This is a piece you must invest in.

I know hot pink and bright yellow can be a bit much for someone who is just getting used to wearing color, so start small with one pop and a neutral to ease your way into the look.

Would you wear this look?

Spring Fling @ The Sonesta Fort Lauderdale #Travel

The view from my amazing room! I loved waking up to this everyday.

Hanging out poolside wearing an Ashley Stewart Printed Swim Dress.

The most amazing surprise in my room from a fabulous staff!

Dinner at the Bistro! Salmon with a mango salsa & fresh asparagus... YUM

Striking a pose in Sonesta's lobby wearing New York & Co. #AllWhite

I have stayed at MANY hotels around the country, and I have to admit that I'm a pretty tough critic. I love traveling and getting to write about/document my adventures. Last week I had a "Spring Fling" escape to Fort Lauderdale, FL for Tortuga weekend and stayed at the Sonesta Hotel property, located directly on the beach. From a Travel Blogger perspective there are a few things that I always judge upon arrival:

1. Location of the property & "crowd"
2. On-site staff and managers
3. The closet & storage space for my things
4. The bathroom products/blow dryer/iron
5. Restaurant & bars located inside the hotel
6. The bed & noise factor (am I going to get a good night's sleep)

Call me crazy, call me high maintenance, but one thing you can say is I am honest and these things are very important for me when I'm selecting which hotel to book. I know you guys like to hear the "real deal" when reading this blog, and the Sonesta truly did pass with flying colors. This review is based upon my personal experience and visit at the hotel.

First of all, the Sonesta is located ON the beach in walking distance to bars/nightlife, restaurants and beach shopping. I think it's the perfect location because of that fact that you can walk anywhere you want, but at night you are still able to sleep. The hotel is located on the end of the strip, which creates the perfect setting for relaxation without the craziness. I knew it was Tortuga weekend (Country Music Festival) so of course I expected to see some "characters", but overall the crowd at the hotel was filled with families and couples.

Upon checking in at the hotel, I was advised my room was not ready yet, which I already expected because check-in usually does not happen until late afternoon. The front desk manager was so friendly, held all my luggage so I can hit the beach while waiting and even offered me 2 extra tickets she was given for the musical festival. What a doll! When people do their job with a smile and sense of pride, it literally resonates in the air. Not only did the hotel find a way to help with an earlier check-in than expected, they secured a room with a view so breathtaking I barely wanted to leave.

I would HIGHLY SUGGEST booking a corner ocean front view room. I am not sure I would have had the same experience without that amazing view. The room was spotless, the view was priceless, and there was a huge sliding door closet filled with hangars and equipped with an iron & full ironing board. (that really makes a difference for me/could be a deal breaker) The bathroom includes a blow dryer hanging from the door, but I would also suggest packing one that's high power. The bathroom products were great, I especially loved the mango body wash. (Also I appreciate the shower cap, some people don't understand ladies with colored hair!)

I had the pleasure of dinning at the Sonesta's Bistro Restaurant located on the property. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful when breaking down the menu for us. I had the seared scallops and linguini, and my accomplice had the salmon with mango salsa and asparagus. The seafood was so fresh, and my spinach pasta was to die for. The service was so on point, and I give them two thumbs up. I love when the wait staff is attentive and in-tune.

Lastly, that bed so was comfortable, I had a REALLY hard time waking up at 6am both days. I really wish I could have slept in and and had breakfast in bed, but fashion duty calls. (Yes, I still had to work while I was in town) I literally want to transport that bed to my apartment in NY! Please & Thank you! Overall, I had a wonderful stay at the Sonesta. I think it is the perfect location for a family vacation, romantic getaway or ladies weekend. The pool & outdoor bar area is perfect for unwinding, and you are literally right on the beach.

I would like to personally thank the Sonesta Hotel's wonderful staff, their amazing PR Agency and everyone who made this trip really special for me. Book your stay now!

...until next time dolls!
