Everyday Superwoman

Location: Tribeca Park | Photographer: NeNe

Cape & Leather Pleated Skirt: Zara | Booties: Mari A | Sunnies: Freida Rothman

In the overall spirit of Halloween, I believe that every woman truly needs a cape, confidence, and empowerment ring to feel like a modern day Superwoman. No need for a red and blue logo'd S on your chest, just the basics to make you feel good in your own skin. This entire look is by ZARA from the Fall 2015 collection.

The "cape" is a must have for this season. I love this camel colored wool cashmere cape with leather buckle straps. It is perfect for everyday and makes me feel like I can conquer the day. Secondly, a huge trend for Fall remains to be a midi-skirt (below the knee). This is a remixed version in leather pleats that adds so much life and movement to your overall look.  I styled this outfit with open toe Mari A tan colored block heel booties and "Serena" oversize sunnies from Freida Rothman. The ring that you see in my fist pump is the first glimpse of DIAMONDS UNLEASHED by Kara Ross for HSN, premiering on December 13th, 2015. #StayTuned

I ALWAYS love Halloween and the Fall season. Any excuse to dress up is enough for me.  I also feel that Halloween is a time when people can be their alter-ego. Why not feel like a Superwoman everyday?

Metamorphosis Day Spa | 127 East 57th Street, NYC | Ph: 212 751 6051

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! I took a little "off-duty" time to visit my favorite spa in NYC, Metamorphosis located uptown on 57th street. (they literally have the BEST facials) I needed some time to myself to relax and regroup. You have to invest in yourself, sometimes taking an afternoon at the spa is much needed. I noticed my skin breaking out A LOT lately (stress and not taking care of myself properly), also my face has been extremely dry from the change in the seasons.

I wanted to get a facial that would hydrate, and improve the overall color of my skin tone after all the damages this summer from the sun. Metamorphosis offers a really unique "Golden Glow" facial that includes a 24k gold and pomegranate face mask. That just sounded like heaven to me! Who wouldn't want to lather themselves in gold?! Little did I know all of the benefits gold actually has, and how it has been used for years since ancient times on the skin.

The facial started off like any other- cleaning, toner, steam, extractions (which is all extremely professional and done well), and then my aesthetician used a pumpkin exfoliation which was amazing. I loved the smell of it, and I felt it added some nice color and glow to my skin. Then the 24k gold mask was applied. It did not tingle or burn, it went on very smooth and has the bright gold look when applied with two coats. I literally felt like an ancient Egyptian queen.  Then a lip perfifane was applied to hydrate any cracks or dryness. I asked my very knowledgable aesthetician what are some of the benefits, and I was completely floored to hear so many!

Activate the process of cell renewal and rejuvenates your skin

Brings a significant reduction of wrinkles and fine lines

It has anti-aging properties and makes your skin look youthful

It is helpful in elimination of toxins and combating damages made by the sun

It provides your skin with oxygen and reduces the tired appearance

Brightens up the skin and your face looks dull no more

Prevents blemishes and acnes since it is known to have anti-bacterial properties

Ensures that skin elasticity is maintained

Improves circulation of blood

It suits dry and oily skin alike

I think that is pretty impressive! Would you ever try one?
You guys seriously have to visit Metamorphosis on your next "off-duty" spa day.  They also have wonderful organic skin products that I have been using for the past few months. I especially love the Emerge Lab stem cell serum and facial cream. Check it out here!

Go for the Gold! xo

Golden Glow

Location: Beard St. Brooklyn | Photographer: NeNe

Leather Coat: metrostyle | Dress: Cult of California | Shoes: metrostyle  | Jewelry: Kara Ross NY
vintage cat sunnies from Brooklyn Flea

My days have been extremely jam packed the past few weeks. Building a brand is no easy task.
Working in the fashion industry is extremely high pace, constantly changing and evolving. You have to be able to think on your feet, literally be a solution finder for anything that can arise.

I CONSTANTLY feel like I am "running in heels"... but no, I mean literally. I am running from meeting to meeting, covering major ground in NYC on a daily basis. My shoes have to be comfortable and look absolutely fabulous at the same time. I open my armoire in the morning and admire my beloved Chanel, Manolo, and Valentino's but realistically I know in 2 hours I will be dying. The most important thing to remember in career dressing is that you have to:

1. Look completely flawless like you stepped out of a magazine
(and not max out your credit card while doing so)

2. Be comfortable and practicable to make it through the day

If my feet are killing me and I am tugging at a neckline it totally decreased my productivity. Looking good and FEELING good in your wardrobe is everything. Now that it is Fall, there is no better look then a long leather jacket. You can throw it over any outfit and feel like a rockstar ready to go. Especially when it's a bronze metallic leather belted look! I wear this jacket with jeans, dresses, skirts and it adds that extra pow factor. Why stick with a blah neutral or black? Go for the gold.

I paired it with these great strapy animal print pointed pumps, which are considered a "midi" heel height and have a lot of support around the ankle. AKA I can actually run in these babies.

Now time to add the quirky fun piece that I just can't live without in any outfit. These crazy cat eye cut-out sunglasses get more attention then any other pair in my closet.  I found them at the Brooklyn Flea, which has some really cool vintage thrift pieces.

A long leather trench coat adds just the right amount of career-woman cool. Nothing #BASIC about this babe.

Breakfast @ Tiffany's #REMIX

Location: Red Hook, Brooklyn

Cape Blazer: Project Gravitas | Dress: All Buy | Booties: Aska Collection | Rings: Kara Ross NY

Sometimes all we need in life is a superwoman cape and a ton of confidence to "own the day".  I've had the pleasure of getting to know Lisa Sun, CEO & Founder of Project Gravitas over the past two weeks, and her entire collection is focused on inspiring and empowering women to look and feel good in their wardrobe. (cheers to that!) Lisa was given some constructive criticism when she started her career at the age of 22.  Her first professional review was, "Lisa comes across as young and overly enthusiastic at times. She should seek to have more gravitas". To have gravitas is to own your own moment. I think this is something we can all relate to. Her story is so inspiring because she never gave up, she took the feedback and developed her professional self over the years.

I can honestly say Lisa has more gravitas then many people I know. She is also a DIAMONDS UNLEASHED ambassador, and part of our community. We had a special moment when I mentioned that I really loved the blazer she was wearing during our first meeting. She immediately sent one over the following day to help empower me and my gravitas throughout the week. I am grateful to be surrounded by so many inspiring groups of women on a daily basis. The support and positive influence keep me going and motivated.

Wearing this cape blazer from meeting to meeting gave me the extra boost of confidence I needed. I styled the look with an elegant shoulder cut-out sheer sleeved dress. The neckline is embellished with stones and can be easily transitional from desk to dinner. I made the look a little more modern with ASKA Collection booties, a 1/2 up top knot bun, and red lips. Not only is this outfit extremely chic and easy to wear, it can double as a modern-day rendition of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" #REMIX style. After-all, it is October and everyone knows I am a big fan of Halloween! Buying a costume from a regular party shop is totally cheating, get creative this year. Bring out your inner renaissance woman and dress up as someone who inspires you.

What do you think of this look? Get ready for a very cool collaboration between DIAMONDS UNLEASHED x Project Gravitas coming in December 2015. #StayTunned
