The Art of Brunch: Birthday Edition!

This past Sunday, December 22, 2013 I celebrated my 25th birthday (which is really on Christmas day) at Little Town in Hoboken NJ. I choose to throw a brunch party this year, as I thought it was fitting to everything going on, especially the blog.  Every year my friends and I usually celebrate at a club or hotel in NYC, but this time around I wanted to bring the intimate celebration back to my Jersey roots. After doing brunch reviews over the past few months, Little Town by far takes the crown. Their casual vibe and homestyle food was the perfect spot for my party.  My guests were all old friends, college buddies, coworkers, and people that mater to me most. I am so grateful to my amazing mom and sister for helping out and putting this together with me.

When it came down to my birthday outfit, my #1 priority was to look fabulous and feel comfortable.  I didn't want to wear anything too form fitting ( obvi because we were eating all day). I found this sequins "sweatshirt" off-the-shoulder dress from ASOS.  Anyone who really knows my style knows that I love anything with sparkle. It was the perfect choice, extremely comfortable, and made a statement. The weather was soooo warm on Sunday that tights and a jacket were not even necessary.  My booties were custom made by Brittany Scott Designs, I love the cut outs on the sides and the studded bow. My long gold "crystal ladder" necklace is by NYC based designer Alexis Gordon of Eklexic. The mercer cross necklace, earrings, bracelets and rings all by Freida Rothman. Last but not least, my "jovie" pleated tote is by Sienna Ray & Co. I def have to give a big thank you to my cousin Brit (and roomie) for doing my hair and makeup for the celebration.

Thank you to my amazing family, good friends, boyfriend, and the awesome staff at Little Town for making my 25th birthday special! This is a big year for me and I know it is going to be my best one yet.

Freida Rothman Lookbook: Behind the Scenes!

This past Sunday we shot the Spring & Fall 2014 lookbooks for Freida Rothman in Brooklyn. It was a lot of planning and logistics the weeks prior, but watching everything come together the day of the shoot is simply magical. I love producing and organizing photoshoots, it is a very fun part of my job description. What makes the day even more magical is the amazing team we put together. Working with industry professionals really makes a difference, and you can tell in the photos. The clothing was pulled from a fab ready-to-wear designer Dana-Maxx, who has been featured in many fashion publications including Teen Vogue/Cosmo/Nylon/InStyle/Harpers Bazaar/Women's health… to name a few (not to mention all the celebrities who have worn her garments). The shoes were pulled from Ask Alice, an innovative shoe company with modernistic designs for the metropolitan lifestyle.

The look and feel for Freida's spring line was light and airy, extremely playful and delicate. Our backdrop was light blue and all of the clothing were nuetral pieces. Our hair and makeup looks were natural, and lighting was bright. The spring line consisted of turquoise, mother of pearl, matte gold, and a lot of "luxure" layering. The models were all smiles and had some cool poses with movement. The fall lookbook shots really pushed the limit with darker/smokey makeup, top knot buns, and accents of fur and rich colors. Our backdrop color was cream, and the jewelry was directly on skin with a lot of up close tight shots. Our fall line was all about mixing metals (gunmetal and gold). Chunky cuffs, statement rings, pendant necklaces, midi rings, and bangles for days. There are a few consistent brand statements that stay from season to season, Freida Rothman jewelry is meant to be worn with layers and stacks.

A special thank you to our dream team.
Our two beautiful models Tatiana and Hau are signed to Q Management in NYC.

Neiman Marcus Holiday Blogger Brunch

I had the opportunity to attend a Fashion Holiday Blogger Brunch at Neiman Marcus in Garden State Plaza hosted by Fashion Journalist and Stylist Dana Prigge. This past Saturday was snowing like crazy on the East Coast, but I bared the weather and decided to attend anyway… I am SO HAPPY I did!

It was such a cool site to see a fabulous table set for brunch with roses and special touches in the middle of Neiman's designer fashion. (now this is my kind of party!) Fashion and food are two of my favorite things, and normally the two do not mix, but it was a great environment and wonderful energy. The room was filled with a hand full of selected bloggers (fashion/lifestyle/food/mommy bloggers), designers, and writers. These inspirational woman shared advice and style tips, along with their passions and goals.

After we chatted up a storm Dana got on the mic and made a wonderful uplifting speech about our industry and sticking together.  A model showed off the latest holiday fashions including designers: DVF, Jimmy Choo, Haute Hippie, Valentino, and Tom Ford.  Dana gave wonderful tips about dressing for the holidays and mixing in accessories. Overall it was a great morning and I really enjoyed myself. I started Blazers & Bellinis in September 2013, and this was the 1st time it hit me that the fashion blogger world has welcomed me with open arms and I am so grateful for everyone's support.  A special thank you to my amazing boyfriend for snapping these photos at brunch. <3

A Day in the Life

I am completely lucky to wake up everyday and look forward to work. A wise man once told me if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I get this funny question pretty much all time,  "so, what exactly do you do?", and that can sometimes be hard to answer because it varies on a daily basis.  The purpose of my blog is so much more then just outfit posts, I want to give an actual inside look into my world. My life is crazy, always exciting, sometimes stressful, but I would not trade it for anything. I am proud to say my full time job is Brand Director for Freida Rothman, and blogging is my hobby and an outlet to release my creative ideas.  I do not have a lot of extra time for shoots, and I do not want to neglect my blog, so I have decided to fuse the 2.  This post is dedicated to a full work day as Brand Director for FR, prepping or "pulling" looks for our 2014 lookbook campaign.

My work days normally start with a 7AM alarm (sex and the city soundtrack of course) and getting my glam on. I believe that if you look good, you will feel good, and your overall day will be better.  I live in a 3 bedroom apartment with my cousin Britney, who I pretty much consider my sister. Our 3rd bedroom is known as "the closet", yes we are both fashion obsessed shopaholics and wanted our "closet" to look like a showroom. (we are not completely finished with it yet). She is probably the only person in the world I would ever share a closet or my beloved fashions/accessories with.

I am supperrr anal about picking out my outfit the night before work, so I normally have it hanging in my "little" bedroom closet ready to go.  My accessories (jewelry, glasses, shoes, hats, scarves, handbags) are picked out the morning of.  After I feel great in my look I must have coffee to function, a quick email check, and then I am out the door in less then an hour.

My 1st stop yesterday was the Dana-Maxx showroom (an amazing American ready-to-wear designer) located on west 28th street. I digitally pulled 27 pieces from her spring and fall collections prior to my pick up.  I love her pieces because they are trendy without "trying" to hard, and completely wearable. Dana-Maxx has dressed many different celebrities, been featured in almost every major fashion publication, and is the definition of a fashion power woman (who is also a Jersey girl!).

The next stop was Ask Alice shoes uptown on 57th street. I literally felt like I died and went to shoe heaven when I entered the showroom.  Booties, pumps, open toe, pointy toe, leather, and suede filled the room. I LOVE their team, and was so happy to see everyone in the showroom and say hi. A very special thank you to Sebastian, Abigail, and of course my friend Alice.

After packing up the car and navigating through Manhattan gridlock traffic, I made it back home to Jersey in time to finish some more emails (prepping for our ENK tradeshow layout) and make it BACK to Manhattan for 7pm,  just in time for Jingle Ball #whewwwww ….welcome to a day in the life. I could not have accomplished all of this without my amazing boyfriend Lukas, who is my partner in crime.  I am so lucky to have wonderful people in my life that are always there to support me and the craziness called the fashion industry.
