Funkadelic Florals

It’s holiday season, and baby it’s getting COLD outside. That doesn’t mean you have to retire florals or bright colors, it’s simply about how you style them. Don’t pack away your favorite little party dresses just yet, all you need to “winterize” your look are dark black tights and a cropped fur jacket. I am loving dresses with bell sleeves lately, totally about the 70’s style vibes. I found these metallic silver ankle booties on ASOS. Every girl needs a pair of disco boots in her closet. The white cropped rabbit fur jacket is by Adrienne Landau. I love this piece because it can be extremely formal with a gown, or worn for a comfy casual vibe. I accessorized this look with my infamous Diamonds Unleashed favorite silver choker and mixed metal cuff. Last but not least, my outfit is never complete without the perfect nail art. This design was inspired by Gustav Klimt’s “KISS” painting. I love the colors and bright gold, it’s the perfect holiday manicure by BISOU NY ( 6 Spring Street, NYC).

Wishing everyone a happy holiday season, serving up more winter looks soon! xo

SUIT: Norma Kamali | TUNIC: Norma Kamali | SHOES: Veerah | BAG: Kara Ross NY | JEWELERY: Diamonds Unleashed

It’s December, only a few more weeks until my BDAY!!!!  Who else is a Capricorn & celebrating this holiday season? This look is officially my “birthday suit”, probably not the same kind you were thinking of haha. I am going to be 28 on December 25th and this is going to be a fabulous year for me.

I have never owned a sexy women’s power suit before, but I felt like it was about time to invest in one. Of course I would turn to NYC based designer Norma Kamali. She has been making these sexy suit sets successfully for over 25 years, not to mention she is the CFDA 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner. This jungle print single breasted jacket and capri suit set is literally the most comfortable thing I have ever owned. Why haven’t I started getting on this years ago?!! Norma is a vision of “cool” and I love how she wears her suits with a skirt layered on top of the Capri, or a long tunic shirt/dress. I played copy-cat and literally tried to style it just as the designer would wear it herself. I am totally not as cool as Norma, but I feel this look is flattering on any body type and I truly feel like a total badass in it. This is why it’s my birthday suit- I will wear it with pride, and feel comfortable + confident and ready to conquer 28.

I paired it with these killer (but so comfy) red ankle strap pumps by VEERAH. They were made from recyclable materials, and also help support women’s education. The ankle straps are actually detachable and can be worn as bracelets too! (love multi-function pieces) I can wear these bad boys more then 4 hours and still keep dancing the night away without shoeicide. SCORE

The cork and paint splatter bag is a Kara Ross heritage piece, available at 655 Madison Ave in NYC. I wore a bold mixed metal cuff and silver choker which is part of the DIAMONDS UNLEASHED x Serena Williams Collection, one of my favs yet.

Get your set suit game on and get ready to step into the holidays full swing!

Monochromatic Magic #Thankful

DRESS: Serena Williams | BELT: H&M | SHOES: ASOS | BACKPACK: Neely & Chloe | SCARF: Vintage

My Thanksgiving look today is all about that monochromatic magic. I am usually a fan of mixing colors and prints, but have been attracted to dressing in different shades and hues of all one color. It’s pretty easy to do, take a peak in your closet and see what you can come up with! I love this oversize comfy sweater dress by Serena Williams, I belted it to add more of a shape and show off a little curves. I always feel that accessories make an outfit! This yellow silk scarf is vintage and it belonged to my grandmother. I inherited her awesome scarf collection, and I feel that it brings me luck and her presence is around me whenever I wear it. There are so many cool ways to wear a silk scarf, I chose to roll it up and tie it twice around my neck almost like a choker. This pink leather cap was a gift from a good friend, it’s fun and girly + sporty all at the same time. I’ve always wanted a pair of creepers, just wasn’t sure if I can pull them off. When I saw these velvet bow style ones I fell in love. They are comfy and add a style statement, you can get them now on

Lastly, this fabulous baby pink backpack is by a wonderful new leather goods brand, Neely & Chloe. They are two kick ass sisters who have created a line of fashion and affordable handbags and shoes. The bags are stunning, extremely well made and personalized. This particular one has my initials *JMB* inside the flap. I literally wear this bag EVERY SINGLE DAY, I am obsessed.

Wishing everyone a happy & healthy Thanksgiving Holiday with their families! This year I am soooooo incredibly thankful for every aspect of my life. I have the best family in the entire world, amazing friends who have become by extended family, and a job that allows me to be myself and follow my dreams. No one’s life is perfect, but when you look around you can shortly realize how good you really do have it. Most of us have food on the table, a warm roof over our head, clothes to wear, an awesome education and opportunity. That’s a lot more then I can say for half of the world, and a big chunk of the United States. We are so lucky, I am so grateful and today (PLUS EVERYDAY) I give thanks for a wonderful life.

Velvet Crush

I have been completely inspired and encapsulated by all things 70’s lately. The music, the fashion, the love and especially the good vibes. I think we can all use a little more 70’s influence in our lives. We live in a world thats in such a particular state of hate and separation. (don’t worry, I won’t get political on here)

Kicking off Thanksgiving week with a little holiday style and LOTS OF VELVET. Ever since I was a little girl my mom always picked out velvet party dresses for special occasions, and I guess it always stuck with me. When I see velvet I think Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. You need a velvet dress in your closet this Fall! It will be your go to wardrobe party anthem look, and I promise you wont regret it. I love this particular fit and flare cold shoulder keyhole dress by ASOS. It’s sexy, without showing too much skin and totally flattering for a pear body type. I styled it with a leather printed black 90’s choker, lots of mixed metal rings, tights and black booties.

So many of you have been reaching out to me asking what tights to buy this winter. I GOT YOU GIRL, these are the ONLY tights I will ever buy. They are dark, comfortable and do not rip easily (can I get a hands up, hallelujah?!). These little biker side zip “heartbreaker” ankle booties are surprisingly by Camtrade Inc. They are seriously SOOO comfortable, great boots for a city gal on the go or commuter.

Stay tuned for more holiday styles coming your way!

Fallin for FALL

SKIRT: ZARA | JACKET: ZARA | Shoes: metrostyle | Jewelry: Diamonds Unleashed for Serena Williams | BAG: Remi & Reid

Here’s to chasing your dreams in the cutest pair of heels you own! I am totally falling for FALL 16, loving the change of season and energy. Not to mention getting to wear leather on a daily basis paired with a cute cropped bomber. This look is about owning a urban chic getup; mixing dark floral prints and street style with an office twist.

The secret is to wear a high waisted skirt with a cropped jacket, it gives an illusion of elongation and is flattering across all body types. I love showing a little bit of jacket lining (especially if it’s colorful) with rolled up sleeves for a relaxed street style vibe.  I accessorized with big door knocker style hoops and a pony, minimal makeup and a bold red lip. These are my fall essentials, pretty Parisian.

I am enjoying these transitional looks before it gets too cold!

Let’s just say this NORMA KAMALI coat was literally love at first site. In a row of beautiful treasures on a sample sale rack in Norma’s uptown boutique, I found her in all the patchwork uniqueness glory and it was like magic. I was there for a work photo shoot, and had a little extra time after to browse her amazing designs. I have never seen a coat like this before, it’s not denim but looks like it. The patchwork is actually a print on a light weight fabric and it’s so easy to wear. The collar doubles as a hood, and I have worn it almost every single day this Fall so far.

I am so into this 90’s “clueless” style inspo lately, this was my favorite movie growing up and I made my mom watch it with me over 100 times HAHA. I am wearing a navy + hunter green plaid skirt and olive peasant top by Free People. Another big Fall 16 trend is the backpack, I love having my hands free since I am always on the go. I added a pink fox pom pom by Adrienne Landau, it’s cute and fun + adds a personal style flare. I know you have seen me in this choker like everyday in different color ways, it's my favorite piece in the jewel box. I am wearing the double band multi color choker by DIAMONDS UNLEASHED for Serena Williams. It's completely sold out online, but don't worry ladies...we are working on some new fire right now coming soon.

Saving the best for last… LOOK AT THESE BOOTS!!! I mean, aren’t they just the most amazing booties you have ever seen?! Obsessed doesn’t begin to describe my love for these shoes. They are by Jerome C Rousseau and handmade in Italy. They are from someone special to me, so naturally I believe they will lead me to beautiful places. I love the calf hair, hint of croc and mixed patterns.

Point blank, this look is about taking risks. Stop thinking of what “matches” and what Fall is “suppose to look like”. Make up your own rules. Wear what feels good to you. Don’t be afraid of pattern play and mixing textures. Splurge on that jacket you have been eyeing all month long. BUY THE COOL BOOTIES instead of the basic black ones. Go for it girl!

Serving up some more Fall fashion...
