Gloriously Gaudy

Dress: TJ Maxx | Wedges: ALDO | Bag: Vintage find | Enamel Bangles + Rings: Freida Rothman

Someone recently asked me to describe my style in a few words. I realized it was actually really hard for me to box myself into a few words in a sentence. My style is bold, over the top, boho, retro, glamour, and classic all in one wacky closet. I change my style everyday. Sometimes I wake up and want to be a minimalist, other days I want to be bright and colorful with miss-matched prints and wild accessories.  To sum it all up, I like to reinvent my look from day to day. I can not and will not be boxed into one category. The whole point of fashion is to be FUN, take some risks and express yourself. If you do not like what I'm wearing thats OK, but don't knock it until you try it on.

In A New York Minute

Blazer: Zara | Dress: Forever 21 | Sandals: Dolce Vita | Bangles & Sunglasses: Freida Rothman
Necklace: Diana Ho Designs | Speedy Tote: Louis Vuitton

Last week I attended z100's Elvis Duran & the morning show's end of summer boat party at South Street Seaport hosted by the awesome Clear Channel Radio Team. I headed to the party right from work in Brooklyn. One major aspect of a metropolitan woman's lifestyle is the ability to adapt and transform in a "New York minute".  We have to be ready for the unexpected, prepare for anything, and of course always look our best.  I love this jersey knit double side slitted dress from Forever 21, and the gold metal belt detail. My summer wardrobe consists of a ton of maxi dresses, they are perfect for the hot weather and can easily be dressed up for the office or after work cocktails. Whenever you are in doubt always go for a classic black dress and a blazer (my motto).

Neon Tribal

Dress: Pink Clubwear | Sandals: Dolce Vita | Sunglasses: Versace |  Enamel Cuff: Freida Rothman

Since I only have a few weeks of summer left, bring on the BRIGHT and BOLD! This outfit is not something I would typically pull from my closet, but I wanted to embrace my curves and lots of color this weekend. This ruffle shoulder tribal print dress is by Pink Clubwear (def an attention grabber). The dress has a certain type of sex appeal without showing too much skin. I love length which hits right above the knee, the scoop back of the garment, and I've always been a fan of bold prints. I paired the dress with these leather rope & metal sandals by Dolce Vita to make it a little more casual.

Who's ready to paint the town this weekend?

Sittin by the Dock of the Bay

Silk Top: Cushie b | Necklace & Bangle: Freida Rothman | Phone Case: Jeremy Scott for Moschino

UK bred designer Val Thompson, Founder of Cushie B, is on a mission to make extremely wearable luxurious everyday fashion for the curvy gal… and I love it! The brand is all about perfecting the basics  in a perfect execution of fashionable style and fit. I first read about the company in one of my favorite blogs by Marie Denee, founder and head blogger of The Curvy Fashionista. (one of my blog inspirations and reason I started Blazers & Bellinis) This watercolor copper tone snakeskin print silk chiffon top not only looks great, but feels amazing on. It comes with a black silk cami, because the top itself is sheer. It feels so light-weight and it's a great piece for the summer. You can wear it with pants, a skirt, shorts, or even as a cover up to the beach. Of course my popsicle Moschino case had to make an appearance on the blog! haha I love this case and it gets a lot of attention… mainly little kids tugging their moms hand on the subway saying "look it's an ice-cream phone", but I don't mind. Fashion doesn't always have to be so serious, sometimes it's fun to mix it up.

Customize Your Style

Dress: eShakti | Shoes: Franco Sarto | Jewelry: Freida Rothman | Crossbody Bag: TJMaxx

eShakti is a fresh concept in women's fashion which started out as a small online retailer for cotton garments and now has turned into an international sensation that allows women sizes 0-36 to customize their designs to specific needs. (genius!)  When the company reached out to me a few weeks ago to try out their website and customize my own dress I was so excited. As a curvy woman it is extremely hard to find the perfect fit (chest, hips, length) and I was curious to see how it would work.  After hours of browsing the site (it was SOOO hard to pick) I choose this Corset style jersey knit dress in blue. When you select the dress of your dreams step 1 is to pick your exact size. (they are extremely true to size). Step 2 is to enter your height for the perfect cut. Step 3 has two parts: choose your sleeve and length of the dress. In my case I stayed with a cap-sleeve and opted for the "mid-calf" length.  When the dress came in, it was the PERFECT fit. I have worn it almost a dozen times already and I feel extremely confident and sexy in this piece.  I want to spread the word about this fabulous online service, I think it could really change the way we shop for any size/race/religion you may be. Thank you eShatki for listening to all of our needs!

What do you guys think?
