What to Wear?! #NYFW

The invites are coming in, anticipation growing, emails overloading… that can only mean one thing NEW YORK FASHION WEEK! This is my favorite time of the year, a time when our industry gets together and celebrates the blood sweat and tears of debut collections (one season ahead) before it hits the market.  Designers, publicists, and production teams work countless hours behind the scense prepping every detail for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week taking place at Lincoln Center.  What is the major question running through every fashionista's mind you ask? What am I going to wear?! Outfit planning for the shows can be stressful, you want to stand out without "trying to hard".  My main advice for fashion week goers is to play dress up in your current closet. The beautiful part about fashion is reinventing yourself and expressing your personal style.

After going through my closet and trying on a million outfits for the approaching weeks, I have forecasted three separate looks that I can predict will be all the rage for Mercedes Benz Fall 2014 Fashion Week. The styles are "Street Chic", "Miss Match", and "Western Bohemian".  These three looks are what is happening right now, all different in style yet bold and noteworthy. I hope this gives you some inspiration and insight for your looks! Even if you are not attending the shows, you can still project these styles in your everyday look.

One of the biggest trends from season to season at NYFW is miss matched prints. "Plain" people would think you got dressed in the dark, but there is actually an art in miss matching.  I love the combination of florals and plaids, camo and tribal, and geometric and abstract. This look gives you the ability to go 90's grunge, 70's casual, or mod mixed. I am loving this Aimee Kestenberg printed back pack, which is totally functional from show to show.

I love this look! Whether you want to call it "trill" or "street" the hip hop music industry is curating some major influence on fashion and style. The best part about being "street chic" is it's supper comfortable! Muscle T's, graphics, metallic sneakers, chunky gold jewelry, fun quotes, snap backs and course my favorite hat- the beanie. Brian Lichtenberg T's are way fun and designer inspired. I am also obsessed with this "bad hair day" beanie from ASOS.

The western boho look is all about floral prints, long skirts and dresses with side slits, dainty pendants, vintage inspired ankle booties, western brim hats, and of course midi rings.  The best walking example of this look is by one of my fav fashion bloggers, Natalie Off Duty. I love her leather "jett" booties by Modern Vice.  You can achieve this look without breaking the bank, these styles are from Forever 21 and ASOS.

The countdown begins!
