White Crochet Maxi #BohoBabe

Jewelry: RIMMA
Knit Crochet Maxi Dress: Forever 21 | Sandals: Franco Sarto | Headband: Namrata Joshipura

A heat wave has officially hit NYC and it finally feels like Summer! You know it's about that time when you can't be in your apartment without the AC on blast. How is a girl to dress in this muggy humid weather? My best style advice is to keep it simple and light. I LIVE in maxi dresses most of the summer because they are so effortless to wear. This particular Forever 21 white crochet top tie maxi is now available online. I love this dress because it makes me feel so feminine and dreamy. I paired it with sandals by Franco Sarto and an amazing printed headband by Indian designer Namrata Joshipura. All of the gorgeous gemstone jewelry I am wearing is part of RIMMA's "Aster" collection which just launched for Spring 2015.  I even added on a few metallic gold and silver Snap Tats, they are so easy to apply and give an added accent to your look (especially in the summer!)

Remember to slow down every once and awhile to stop and smell the roses. Keep making wishes, chasing dreams, and reaching for the stars!

Until next time dolls...

Old Navy Fall Preview #OLDNAVYSTYLE

Last week I had the pleasure of attending Old Navy's Fall 2016 Collection Preview in Manhattan.  I have ALWAYS been a fan of Old Navy clothing. Comfortable, casual, classic American styles that are easy to wear and appeal to every body shape (& friendly on the wallet).  Did I mention that Old Navy sure knows how to throw a party?! Their previews are always a blast with the best music, cocktails, unique presentation style of collections and fun fashionable stations to entertain bloggers and editors.

There was a very talented sketch artist drawing fashion figure portraits, a "make your own tote" custom printing station, and of course a great bar severing up some hot summer cocktails.  I was clearly a big fan of the Chi-sangria served in mason jars. (so yumm) It was wonderful to see all of my fellow blogger babes and catch up on all of the amazing projects everyone has going on.

I know what your thinking... "how is she talking about Fall when we just started summer?". Girlfriend, we are always a season in advance, I know it sounds funny but it's second nature to us when working in the fashion industry. In my head (which is a wild place to be), I am already digitally designing two seasons forward at all times. Look at it from our perspective: we have to create the "trend" or collection idea, actually produce and make the pieces (which takes at least 3-6 months), and market it to the media. There is so much that goes into it behind the scenes. Then it goes into stores and you officially can purchase the clothing/accessories in Fall.

Now let's get down to business and chat CLOTHING & TRENDS for Fall 2016.
I absolutely loved Old Navy's Fall 2016 color palette which consisted of navy blue, ruby reds, burgundy, dark gray, and mustard. I would describe the collection as a "Rugby Chic Indian Tribal" look. I am a big fan of miss-matching and mixing prints, there was a TON of plaid and rugby stripes. I also really related to the tribal additions and large oversized knit kimonos (so my style). There was one mustard colored long tunic that I just could not take my eyes off of! In terms of accessories, its ALL ABOUT THE MINI CROSS BODY. Usually when you think of Fall you typically think large oversized bags. (nope! not this year) As we watched on the runway, it is going to get smaller and smaller. Mini cross-bodies in prints, stripes, and neutral colors are GOLDEN for Fall 2016.
Another trend I saw at old navy was mixing feminine with a little edge. For example, a lacey dress layered with a large chunky knit and a baseball cap with cowboy boots. Boom, Done, OVA!

I don't want to rush this wonderful summer but I am eagerly awaiting Fall to wear all of these gorgeous new styles! What are you favs?

UNBREAKABLE

What I'm Wearing
Dress: New York & Co. | Vest: Zara | Wedges: Aldo | Sunnies: Ray Ban
Earrings/Pendent Necklace/Gemstone Bracelet: RIMMA | Cuff: Kara Ross | Rings: Freida Rothman
Studded Clutch: Sienna Ray | V Necklace: Forever 21

There is just one very important message I would like to send out into the universe this week. DIAMONDS ARE MADE UNDER PRESSURE, and us women are #unbreakable. No matter what you are going through in life, just know there will always be lots of ups and downs. With great highs come great lows. You must learn how to deal with the pressure and balance your inner self at ease. It has taken me many years to find this understanding and inner peace. Now that I have it, I will never let it go.

I have lots of personal change and GROWTH happening over the next few weeks which I am so excited to share with you. This announcement has come with a lot of hard work and owning my craft. I have been working in the fashion industry for quite some time now, many people would assume my life is rainbows and sunshine + shoes, which is not all true. I have had my fair share of blood, sweat, and tears in this business but I never gave up.

I always get asked the same question, "What is your best advice to someone starting out in the fashion industry?".  Here it goes (uncensored): NOTHING will be handed to you... get ready to work your ass off. PROVE YOURSELF... your nothing until you can prove your actions and back it up.  TAKE A HIT... like a boxing match you will get knocked out a few times, a true champion stands back up and comes in swinging. THICK SKIN...you will have a lot of critics in this business, you have to learn how to handle them and keep it moving. BE YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES... stay true to you, only you know what's best in your heart and follow it.

...Now that I got that off my chest lol let's talk style!

I am wearing a bright colored cotton green dress from NY & Co. layered with a white vest and some black/tan wedges. I think this look is great for a weekend rendevous, brunch date, or even happy hour in the city. I threw on some classic black Ray-Ban sunnies, I haven't worn them in a while. I did a red lip to give it a sexy vibe and layered on a TON of fab jewelry. I am obsessed with the gemstone line RIMMA- which is all about vibrant color. My good friend started the line (family owned business) and their website is launching in Summer 2015.

Until next time dolls! Keep your head up and remember our little chat.

Pearly Whites

Doctors Anthony Vocaturo & Donald Lapine

The cat is officially out of the bag, have you noticed me smiling a little wider (and brighter) the past few days? I visited NJ Cosmetic & Wellness Center in my hometown of Bayonne, NJ last week with my blogger babes for a very special consultation and whitening procedure with Dr. Lapine (who is SUCH a doll!). This is a very personal post for me,  I wanted to share my experience and hopefully inspire a few others.

I have been extremely insecure about my smile for a while now. I really hate going to the dentist, and have been told a few times I need braces. I feel that I am too old for them now, and it's just not an option for me at this point in my life. Dr. Lapine was so helpful breaking down my options on the cosmetic side of things (veneers), to improve my smile and confidence. I also recently made a few MAJOR life changes including: quitting smoking, not drinking soda and totally changing my eating habits. I noticed my teeth were not as white as they used to be, and those "at home" treatments are really not even good for your teeth and strip away the good stuff.

When I was invited to the center to try the "ZOOM" laser whitening procedure, I must admit I was a little nervous at first. My initial questions were: does it hurt? how long does it take? does it actually work? I wanted to share ALL the details about this treatment because it was amazing. To answer the most important questions (and what I get asked the most), this treatment does not hurt AT ALL.  Dr Lapine applied a hydrogen peroxide gel on my teeth and a little lip stretcher, also some protective rubbery peel on my gums. Don't I look glamorous haha!

Next we did 4 1/2 fifteen minutes sessions of the whitening laser machine on my teeth. I felt nothing, it did not hurt at all, I was even taking selfies during the treatment. After the laser the nurse peeled the rubber off my gums, I rinsed and then checked out my new pearly whites. I really did notice a big difference in my smile.

I would absolutely recommend the ZOOM whitening treatment and all my New Jersey based fashionistas you have to check out the NJ Cosmetic & Wellness Center, it will be well-worth it.
Like them on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/NJsmiling/timeline

Did I mention this is a dentist + family owned wellness center? After my treatment I was escorted up to the 3rd floor to a mini sanctuary spa with my blogger babes. I had a FABULOUS body massage and it was definitely a day of pampering. This makes a trip to the dentist that much better when you get a facial or massage right after? Now that's what I call full service!

Check out the Spa-Lash Center as well!

Being GLAM at Galli Restaurant

Galli LES98 Rivington St, NYC

Sick of going to the same local spots in the city for dinner? There is no excuse not to try something new every night. Our city is filled with the BEST restaurants in the country. I recently dined at Galli on the LES, and it was SO GOOD that I literally need to tell you all about it. Talk about a "cool downtown vibe", I felt like I was literally sitting next to the entire lookbook.nu community hahaha! I loved the casual yet extremely chic "you need to be here" type of atmosphere. This is NYC's new IT spot, and if you haven't been yet then you better make a ressy like ASAP. (unless you want to keep doing the whole Beauty & Essex/Acme thing forevz... been there, done that)

Now let's get down to the details: SERVICE/FOOD/VIBES.

My partner in crime, Daily Fashionista Dana, and I were greeted by a well-dressed handsome Italian man from Milano with an accent. Need I say more? (droolz) The wait staff was very helpful when ordering, and extremely attentive to the table.  You know I am a stickler for service, so I honestly give them two thumbs up for being amazing.

The main reason you need to go to Galli, the food! D E L I S H
We started with the Carciofi  (pan fried artichoke, parmigiano, chipotle mayo), and I had the Chicken Francese (pan seared chicken, white wine, lemon butter, organic garden vegetables). This meal was literally to die for, I would highly suggest ordering these items from the menu. If you are a real authentic Italian, you will appreciate the Francese sauce as it was so light and perfect.  I even treated myself to a killer cocktail, the Berry Serio (Vodka, St. Germain,Thyme, Lemon, Raspberries), this was very refreshing and sweet.  Even though I was stuffed till next Tuesday, I can NEVER ... EVER pass up anything with Nutella  So naturally, we split the Nutella Crepe topped with whipped cream and fresh berries. (danger-zone)

Lastly, the vibes. Let me tell you something,  you'll be VIBIN all night during your meal. Where else will you be eating a chic Italian dinner as they blast drake and current artists? This isn't necessarily the restaurant you take mom when visiting New York, you know what I mean? This IS the restaurant to have a fun night out with your ladies, a night date, or even an after work bite with cool co-workers. I have to mention the space is a bit small (as per usual NYC restaurants) so get ready to get to know your neighbors, you will be in close proximity. We had a great crowd the night we dined and the vibes were super chill and chic.

Are you going to check out Galli LES this weekend?
